Hello.
I have always enjoyed doodling. When I was a kid, I would cut out the editorial cartoons in The Orange County Register and trace them. I didn’t really understand the power of a cartoon on the editorial pages until much later, but that early training kept me interested in communicating through the combination of images and words.
That instinct eventually grew into a whole creative life that now includes writing plays, making zines, illustrating children’s books, and drawing cartoons.
As a playwright, I love writing stories that explore queerness, aging, tradition, and sometimes the horrifying normalcy of everyday life. My play The Lavender Room will be featured in The Future Is Queer, a short play anthology at Left Coast Theater Company in San Francisco, this coming August (2025). You can also find my work on NPX.
I am also proud to support young theater artists in the Bay Area as an adjudicator for The Rita Moreno Awards and The Sara Bareilles Awards. Through both programs I get to help high school students deepen their love for theater and celebrate their creative development.
In other corners of my life, I’ve written and illustrated books for children and people with diabetes, compiled a year’s worth of handmade zines into a book called Thirty-Eight, and designed a bunch of posters for queer plays, high school musicals, and the occasional Zoom production.
At the heart of everything I make is a desire to connect through art and to say something honest. I like reminding myself and others that weird little thoughts have value. Whether it’s on a stage, a page, or a sketchpad, I’m just trying to tell stories that feel human.
